The 9th is a make up hole and often can kick start your round before heading to the more difficult back nine, but beware of the subtleties of this hole. The fairway is wide with a lateral hazard down the left side, but is usually not in play. The right side of the fairway or even the rough is your best bet. The approach should favor the left side as this green and is steeply pitched from back to front. A raised embankment lines the right side of the green leaving a challenging shot that runs away from you and could result in bogey or worse. Keep the ball below the hole especially when the pin is in the front of the green..
