At first glance, the opening hole at Saratoga National appears benign with everything in full view. A tee shot placed left center, avoiding the three fairway bunkers, will allow the golfer the best approach to this undulating green angled away from the golfer.
On your approach shot simply carry the wetland and small pot bunker guarding the front portion of the green and the hole will greet you with a great start to your round. Don't let the beauty of this first hole lull you to sleep. There are many challenges ahead of you.
